They feature the same engine, however the Corolla sedan comes standard with a Continuously Variable Transmission with intelligence and Shift Mode, while the Corolla iM is standardly paired with a 6-speed manual transmission with the CVT with intelligence and Shift Mode as an option. The Corolla iM comes available with normal and sport driving modes on the CVT, while the Corolla sedan features those modes on the XSE trim or higher.
