2017 Toyota Camry vs 2017 Honda Accord

The automotive world is full of rivalries. Sharing a class or segment for numerous years can lead to two cars competing across generations. The 2017 Toyota Camry vs the 2017 Honda Accord is just the most recent competition between the two iconic sedans. The models may be new, but the competition is just as fierce as it has always been.

Under the hood, the two cars take similar approaches. Both models offer four-cylinder base engines, a 2.5-liter on the Camry and a 2.4-liter on the Accord. Both engines earn similar power and fuel economy numbers. Each sedan also offers an available V6 engine option on higher trim levels that maximizes horsepower ratings.

While the 2017 Toyota Camry and the 2017 Honda Accord begin in similar places, there are several differences that set the two sedans apart. The Camry and Accord differ in one key element. All Camry models come equipped with a standard automatic transmission. This kind of transmission is not offered on the Honda Accord.

2017 Toyota Camry Trim Levels and Features

The 2017 Toyota Camry and 2017 Honda Accord are both offered in multiple trim levels. Accord models are available five trim levels, while the Camry is offered in four. Fewer trim levels means that each model comes equipped with a denser concentration of features and technology systems. Models begin with the Camry LE. Even though it checks in as the base trim, the LE still includes an excellent collection of standard features, including comfort-tuned suspension, automatic headlights, heated mirrors, keyless entry, a rearview camera, 6.1-inch Entune touchscreen infotainment system and Bluetooth, USB and auxiliary connectivity.

Next up is the 2017 Camry SE. This model adds 17-inch alloy wheels, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and several sport-oriented features, including sport-tuned suspension and sport-themed exterior styling. The Camry XSE builds on the SE’s sport theme, adding 18-inch wheels, LED running lights, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless smartphone charging and a 10-speaker JBL sound system.

Finally, the top-of-the-line 2017 Toyota Camry XLE returns to the LE’s comfort-tuned suspension, adding all of the upgraded technology features available on the XSE along with full leather upholstery.
